Moonlodges
Moonlodges are women only events held in a Sacred space of mutual respect and sharing.
A Goddess Moonlodge is a sacred circle for all women who have started to menstruate (though you don't have to be bleeding to attend), whether or not they are still bleeding or they hold their wise blood (menopausal women), and regardless of age, race or religion.
Goddess Moonlodges work with ancestral ceremony and Goddess myths surrounding the seasons and around the various aspects of the blood mysteries and body wisdom. The Moonlodge has it's origins in Native American tradition, but in essence is part of all our indigenous spirituality. It is a re-claiming of the path of the Divine Feminine, as she expresses herself in all of nature and in our own bodies.
The Moonlodge offers a place in which to meet as women together, sharing and learning, finding new ways of connecting together and honouring our sisterhood. The sacred space that a Moonlodge provides enables the energy of these meetings to resonate in our interactions and ways of being with each other as women in our community, our family and our lives.
Meeting in sacred space, we witness and share our individual - and societies - stories and connect to the wisdom of our womb space. Using ancestral ceremony and Goddess myths, visualisation, story telling,
dance, song and ritual, we honour and celebrate who we are. In reclaiming the precious beauty and sacredness of our sexual, sensual bodies, we will work with healing the personal and collective wounding which manifests in all of us from such sources as the negative impact of media imagery, being treated as 'nothing special', holding the energy of negative self esteem and body image, and dishonouring and abuse. We will connect to each other and to our blood lines, finding a way to celebrate every woman in the Moonlodge for who she is: a unique representation of Goddess and a sister under the moon.
Moonlodges are held 8 times a year around the time of the Dark Moon and last for approximately two hours. Please bring with you something for the central altar and a cushion to sit on should you need one.
There is a £5 minimum donation per participant, however, no-one is turned away on financial grounds and if anyone who wishes to participate is genuinely unable to arrange the donation, please contact Jo prior to the evening.
